sibling duo madina yavorskaya and rustam kungurov bake cakes inspired by art and design. from van gogh’s sunflowers to yayoi kusama’s pumpkins, they decorate multi-tiered sweets that capture the colors, patterns and textures of each master piece.

with incredible detail, the pair achieve a high level of design thanks to their background in fine arts and architecture (yavorskaya has a background in fine arts and kungurov has experience in architecture). in 2009, they decided to merge their talents and open their own artisanal bakery in moscow called tortik annushka.
their collection showcases madina’s artistic approach to the craft, taking inspiration from iconic artworks that span the centuries. they include piet mondrian’s series of composition, which started in 1923, hokusai’s ‘the wave’ from 1829, and the birth of venus painted by sandro botticelli in 1485. they’ve even captured contemporary artworks such as maurizio cattelan’s ‘comedian’, a ripe banana that was duct-taped to the wall during art basel miami beach last year.
together madina yavorskaya and rustam kungurov craft made to order cakes for special occasions such as weddings and birthdays. they also teach classes at their baking school, teaching students to bake and decorate their unique designs.
