additionally, the story was first picked up by jaolpnik, who stated that ‘the owner already had two road-going M1s and bought a wrecked one for a parts stash.‘ in an interview with bring a trailer, the owner notes that he had bought one BMW1 that was crashed in 1985, with another heavily damaged M1 that was stored in a building that had caught fire. the end result was the beautiful M1 now hanging.
