the ‘time machine’ series by photographer balint alovits show the caracole staircases always from the same central perspective, generating the pulling sensation. the visual effect generated is achieved in all of them, no matter to which period of time they belong to. the works create a new dimension by splitting space and time while staying within the visual limits of the project’s concept. and although the images do talk about specific architectural movements, the spiral present in all of them continuously evokes the idea of infinity.
