AURORA neon sign by Moradavaga wraps the vacant train station
Design collective Moradavaga presents its latest interactive art piece, Aurora, located at the former train station/bar/cultural hub in Auer/Ora, Italy. Resembling a climbing plant, the installation gracefully envelops the vacant building, forming the word ‘Aurora’ in the shape of a giant neon sign. The typographic design draws from the electrifying dynamics of passing trains and the vibrant energy once present within the site. The artwork is a captivating artistic intervention that visually signals a new dawn in the life of the former train station ‘Ora – Val di Fiemme/Auer – Fleimstal’.

The ‘Aurora’ lettering and its connecting elements can be appreciated from various angles, setting the stage for the new future of this space. Beyond its visual impact, the illuminating art piece also serves a unifying purpose. The pipes extending from the lettering can be interactively used as speaking tubes, reminiscent of ancient string telephones.
The intervention alludes to the electrical nature of the old train power source while injecting a splash of color and light to the structure guiding the way towards its future transformation into a cultural center, ‘AurOra’. Through this installation, the creative collective underscores the collaborative and interdisciplinary potential of the future cultural center, emphasizing its role as a place of connection and creativity.
