The public art installation will be showcased at the Miami Design District during Miami Art Week 2023 (see designboom’s guide to Miami Art Week here!), open for viewing from December 4 to 10. Infusing the city with a vibrant pink-hued creative energy, Reisinger seamlessly transcends the boundaries between the digital and physical realms, unveiling a tangible manifestation of his acclaimed digital Take Overs.

about the viral ‘take over’ digital art series

In January 2023, Andrés Reisinger (find more here) started his ongoing Take Over series of digital artworks as an exercise in creative freedom and the democratization of the arts. Te project involves reimagining the architecture of major global capitals with pink drapes, seamlessly integrating hyper-realistic elements into existing structures. By blurring the boundaries between the digital and the physical, Reisinger presents a distinctive and innovative interpretation of seemingly ordinary elements, prompting us to challenge the conventional definition of ‘real.’ To him, anything that constitutes a human experience holds authenticity, irrespective of its existence in the digital or physical realm. Harnessing social media as a vibrant and easily accessible exhibition platform, the Take Over digital series raises questions regarding the installation’s location and temporality—a dynamic interaction that challenges traditional definitions of ‘real’ in art, affirming that the genuine essence resides in the experiential.

Take Over Miami: Bridging Realms and Transforming Spaces

In Take Over Miami, Reisinger takes a step forward and brings the digital series to physical life, inviting art enthusiasts to join the transformation of physical space into a surreal pink dreamscape. In collaboration with the Miami Design District (find more here), the artist showcases this cutting-edge art piece during Miami Art Week (find more here). Rejecting categorization, Reisinger choreographs a vibrant conversation between tangible and virtual dimensions, crafting an artwork that unfolds like an experiential landscape. ‘I conceived the installation to transcend mere visuality and become a confrontation, a mirror reflecting the viewer’s own mutable internal landscapes. I delved myself into an ongoing exploration of the fluctuating boundaries between consciousness and the unconscious, a dialogue that finds echoes in art. The installation emerges as a synthesis of practices, a conduit for transformative experiences.
