a social media apocalypse sees facebook, google and tinder in urban decay

in a post-apocalyptic world how would social media giants fare? — this is where graphic artist andrei lacatusu gets inspiration for his latest project, social decay. he imagined what it would be like if today’s obsessions withered away, the same way retailers would in a world abandoned by life.

depicting tech titans like google, instagram and facebook, lacatusu designs storefronts in abandoned towns and not even your much-loved tinder profile is spared. the ‘social decay‘ series, which uses a mix of adobe photoshop and a pair of 3D rendering programs called autodesk 3ds max and v-ray, paints fades of the tech companies’ signs onto rendered buildings with some letters falling off altogether.
