alessandro paglia 'smashes' iconic movie cars in hand-drawn, hyper-realism series

in his latest series of hyper-realistic drawings, alessandro paglia reinterprets cars from iconic movies into ‘smashed’ forms. drawn from the top view, each of the cars convey the idea that it has been flattened by a foreign object. the milan-based artist has previously gained recognition for his meticulous ink drawings of classic cars in black and white; in this series, paglia demonstrates his ability to execute in colored pencils as well.

hand-drawn on cotton paper, the one-off realistic drawings feature iconic cars from movies such as the ‘dukes of hazzard’, ‘goldfinger’, ‘herbie the beetle’, ‘taxi driver’, ‘blue brothers’, and ‘back to the future’. paglia captures hyper-realism in the drawings through his deep knowledge in material textures, color tones and shading. available to acquire through email request or DM on his instagram page, the artworks are all 115 x 80cm in size.
