until recently artists could only make passive art. we look at paintings. we look at sculpture.
doing this doesn’t change the work; though, at its best, the art changes us. in the twenty-first
century, the crisis or representation has been supplanted by a new challenge born of another
technological revolution: digital technology that can mimic the real world’s reaction to our actions.
as such, today’s artists must strive to create new forms of art that mirror or distort our interaction
with reality.‘ george fifield, act/react curator
