the three courtyards, located at the front, center and back of the floor plan, are designed by webe to be occupied throughout the day in ‘an effortless symphony’. mornings are spent in the front court with a daily dose of news and tea, while afternoons and evenings are split over the levels of the center court with music, chatter and laughter amidst the sound of nature and water.
view of the outdoor seating area
the back courtyard is private and is overlooked by the sleeping spaces. the perforated custom wall and ceiling in this semi-outdoor space bring residents closer to nature, while also flooding the interior with natural light. the spaces in the house are layered to overlook these open areas, creating a unique feeling of inside outside.
the formal living space
the striking signature of the house is in the materials that have been used – a combination of concrete, copper brass and wood. the outdoors are characterized by the raw rustic look of concrete, stone and wood with varying textures that layer to form harmony. the landscapes are kept to a minimum but are curated enough to accentuate the raw texture of the materials used.
the family living area
the interiors personify a subtle richness with the use of copper and wood in the background of white marble. the textures in the interior are sleek and smooth and designed with a neutral color palette, making it easy to redecorate. on the other hand, the exterior is rustic and raw and intends to age gracefully with time. TUT house builds a coherent flow of visual appeal which gives the house a feeling of richness and warmth for the family. it is a celebration of juxtaposing materials, textures and colors.
