esiot flagship store brings earthy tones to the center of Athens
Located in Exarcheia, in the heart of Athens, Greece, the Esiot flagship store by interior architect Nancy Katri embodies the essence of leather. Inspired by the key material for the brand’s locally handmade sandals and shoes, the shop’s layout features a duality that reflects the products and the artisanal processes behind them. This duality takes shape and becomes the main design concept, dividing the space into a front stage and a backstage area. Smooth, satin finishes in warm earthy tones such as terracotta, deep brown, burnt orange, and ivory characterize the front stage, creating an inviting atmosphere that resonates with the brand’s identity. A poured concrete floor adds a rugged texture, complemented by custom Styrofoam sculpted units that serve as flexible seating and podiums, embodying the dynamic nature of the retail environment.

Nancy Katri breathes workshop vibes in the retail’s interior
Central spotlights highlight the Esiot products, while globe wall fixtures illuminate the corner storefront, drawing the attention of passersby. Bespoke stainless-steel furniture by Nancy Katri—such as the cash desk and mirrors—paired with ceramic accents from local artists, emphasizes the handcrafted theme. The Greek interior architect takes inspiration from leather’s dual nature, contrasting its soft, smooth front with its rough, hard back. Behind a dramatic floor-to-ceiling curtain, the backstage area exposes the raw authenticity of the footwear brand. Rough textures and sanded metal elements, complemented by the DIY aesthetic of LED tubes, evoke a workshop atmosphere. The visible backstage area maintains a visual connection to the other floors, with the basement serving as the main storage area and the mezzanine functioning as office space.
founded in 2014 by Irene Sioti, Esiot creates high-quality leather footwear
contrasting textures capture the evolution of the brand
Esiot, founded in 2014 by Irene Sioti, creates high-quality leather footwear based on Greek heritage and craftsmanship. Local artisans handmade every piece in Greece with durable materials and anatomical gels for comfort. Inspired by Greek landscapes and personal stories, the brand offers a range of sandals, heels, and boots, prioritizing sustainability in every collection and reflecting a connection to tradition. The Esiot Store represents the values, craftsmanship, and practicality of the brand, offering customers insight into the making process. Contrasting textures and bespoke design elements capture the journey from workshop to retail, offering a unique experience that celebrates artistry and functionality.
