REFORM Architekt’s Marcin Tomaszewski conceives DUNE House

DUNE House by REFORM Architekt transforms a rural landscape by blending modern design with natural surroundings in Poland. Designed by Marcin Tomaszewski, the house reflects the changing shapes of dunes while preserving the timeless beauty of the countryside. The project addresses contemporary architectural needs while respecting the authentic rural atmosphere.

The building draws from its location, integrating seamlessly with the tranquil setting of the Polish countryside. The minimalist design features a single-pitched roof and utilizes locally sourced PETERSON brand bricks, laid vertically to elongate the structure. The color palette, based on shades of desert beige, enhances the harmonious integration with the landscape.

DUNE House Harmonizes Modern Design with Rural Tranquility

A defining feature of DUNE House is its roof, shaped like desert dunes, creating a sense of movement and fluidity. This design element not only reflects the natural surroundings but also conceals a lower floor dedicated to a home relaxation center, complete with a sauna and home theater. Black steel columns strategically placed around the building introduce a touch of modernity and rawness, contrasting with the sand-colored facade. These vertical elements add depth and dynamism to the structure, subtly referencing industrial architectural styles.

The house’s design emphasizes the significance of the location, incorporating a mature tree in the heart of a private roundabout, influencing the building’s final shape. The semicircular layout integrates architecture and nature creating an atmosphere of tranquility and unity with the environment.

DUNE House demonstrates that modern, functional buildings can coexist harmoniously with rural settings, preserving local heritage while addressing contemporary needs. The project by REFORM Architekt exemplifies innovative design that respects and enhances the unique character of its location.
