Tiệm Bánh Minji or Minji Cake blends with Duc Linh’s greenery
Vietnamese architectural practice TTDESIGN.vn builds Minji Cake, a small bakery situated on the edge of a vast rubber forest in Duc Linh. Characterized by basalt red soil and surrounded by the greenery of mountains and forests, the area’s topography informs the design. The bakery combines traditional architectural elements with an emphasis on local character. The overall form of the building is defined by soft, undulating lines that are symmetrical, offering visual harmony and balance.

protruding tile roof tops bakery’s structure by TTDESIGN.vn
The structure features a prominent, wide, protruding tile roof, interwoven and segmented into circular blocks that encircle the trees, creating a spacious environment. This space is divided into two distinct areas: one section for the homeowner’s private use and another for patrons to enjoy their cakes. TTDESIGN.vn design team aims to evoke a tranquil and subdued atmosphere, using rustic materials with textured surfaces. Lighting is strategically directed at key points, with other areas intentionally left in shadow to enhance depth and create a sense of space.
