House F composes an open x-plan configuration

DMAA (delugan meissl associated architects) completes House F, a residence that embeds in a gentle hilly landscape of Slovenia complementing an existing ensemble. The adopted architectural configuration, characterized by open angles and two intersecting saddle roofs, effectively captures the site’s unique essence. While the building presents a closed, solid facade to the street, its interior is generously glazed particularly in the central living and dining areas that open up offering views of the natural surroundings. The spatial transition extends to a multi-level terrace, featuring a partially sheltered front section, providing a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

timber slat facade enfolds the entire volume

Each room offers a variety of visual connections looking outwards to the surrounding nature as well as towards the interior of the house. The intersection of the roof and the overall room height add a tangible dimension to the space. The design team opts for a subtle material selection including white walls and polished screed floors allowing the house’s unique geometry to take center stage.

The exterior of this timber-framed structure is enveloped in a wooden lamella facade that extends over the saddle roof. The depth of the lamellae adds a sculptural quality to the facade, creating a dynamic appearance that evolves when viewed from different angles.
