tsubame architects divides panasonic's future life factory with colorful wall of metal + neon

tsubame architects has designed the interiors of panasonic’s future life factory design center, dividing the studio in two separate spaces with a partition wall of metal mesh, neon, and reflective glass. the interior has been developed to reflect the studio’s cutting-edge, future-oriented approach, taking half the size of the office area to create a ‘blank’ space that can function as a gallery, where outside artists can exhibit their work and active collaborative work can take place. all images by kenta hasegawa

tsubame architects has focused the design on the interface between the office space and the gallery space at the panasonic future life factory design center, creating a sort of ‘inter-column device’ on parameters such as: security, gallery wall, sound insulation, structure, storage, and lighting. positioned like the backbone of the space, the partition wall is built using a steel rack, metal mesh, glass, anti-scattering/deflection film, various outlets, and neon, resulting in a layered device that interacts with the user. other parts of the office and gallery are designed as monotone, with their appearance affected by the shadows and reflections of the partition wall’s the piping and wiring.

‘this is an interior design that captures and overlaps physical phenomena, and also has a socially constructive role that encourages new organizational activities and internal and external collaboration,’ explains the tsubame architects.
