the 1500 sq. meter store, with four floors, aims to attract customers through its architecture and its feeling of space inside, rather than traditional window displays, says H&M.

 

H&M’s japanese stores are the first to see the new collaborative collection created with comme des garçons’ rei kawakubo. the launch has been greatly anticipated, with the first customers lining up outside the new H&M store in harajuku, tokyo since saturday, november 8. the company says thousands of customers were were camping out in the chill and rain days before the opening. for about a week now security guards have been making neat lines of eager shoppers, stretching way back to the meiji dori intersection. tokyo trend hunters hungry for H&M in harajuku and ginza are the first in the world to be able to buy the collection, with other markets from november 13. shop and paper shopping bags are sporting the H&M and comme des garcons logo combo.
