Nishizawa delves into the concealed facets of architecture

The title of the exhibition reflects Nishizawa’s meticulous approach to architecture. The exhibition draws inspiration from the proverb Chance Favors the Prepared Mind, which underscores the importance of mental preparation and initiative in uncovering the unexpected. Nishizawa believes that this approach is essential for understanding the true significance of architectural works and their core elements.

Through this exhibition, the Japanese architect presents a concept for an art museum, a miniature world scattered throughout the space, breaking away from traditional prototypes. This innovative approach accommodates a diverse range of citizen activities, including exhibitions, lectures, workshops, meetings, and relaxation areas, all incorporating various objects and tools. ‘Our aim was to scatter activities around in a state of mutual coexistence, just as the tools needed for those activities, the movable storage racks to house them, the curtains, furniture, movable walls and so on, would be scattered throughout the space,’ he explains.
