ten arquitectos have designed the hi line hotel (previously named the habita hotel chelsea) in new york.
this 56-room lodging at 516 west 27th street respects both the visual palette and the height of its surroundings while bringing a subtle architectural pop to the neighborhood. the building’s landmark features are its metal mesh façade and its exterior glass elevator, which rises in a slender glass column from a brasserie and bar lounge at ground level to a roof deck, replete with a pool, bar, and garden terrace, which alleviate the surrounding concrete jungle with reflective surfaces, water, greenery, and views of the cityscape.
