taller de arquitectura la fundación completes sports substructure in rosario, argentina

located in rosario, argentina, taller de arquitectura la fundación (TAF) has completed the ‘C.A.N.O.B jorge b. griffa sports services,’ built in the bella vista complex. the project features semi-covered spaces, an open ground floor, four multifunctional levels, and a common use terrace. the structure comprises nine modified sections; general, management, service, internal personnel, infrastructure, entertainment, sports management, exclusive, and external accessibility.all images courtesy of laura glusman

the first section by taller de arquitectura la fundación (TAF), serves as the most ‘open’ layout of the building. it includes spaces for team members and casual visitors, as well as the checkpoint and the lodge, giving access to the reception room. the second one has direct connection to the main entrance hall, through the lodging, and accommodates sectors for activities. besides, the third unit houses service areas, such as the kitchen and the storage, as well as the internal staff spaces, such as locker rooms, bathrooms, and resting rooms.

meanwhile, the infrastructure spaces complete the fourth section. it encloses the arrival and distribution of energy and water supply, thermal conditioning and sanitation. the entertainment, and ‘preparation’ spaces take form in the fifth unit, arranging for the professional team and coaching staff interaction. this includes a dining area-bar, a multi-purpose area, a play-, a living- and a video room. sports management section facilitates the proper development of sports planning tasks.

the sixth unit houses exclusive spaces, such as the team member’s and coaching staff’s bedrooms. it is related to private activities, resting, and possible individual isolation. the bedrooms have restricted access, and their typology was defined as a double cell, with a private restroom, storage area, and a desk. then, the following section contains the external accessibility spaces, leading to consider massive access of motorized vehicles, and buses that transport the professional squad during trips.

the last unit includes the landscaping and outdoor zones. three different regions were proposed; a green, an encounter, and a playful and contemplative green area. the first linked with the parking lot, while in the second one two ping-pong tables, a bocce court, benches, and a mini-golf were installed.
