high-end materials such as late tera wood panels, travertine marble adorn the surfaces of this three-storey penthouse in são paulo designed by brazilian architecture firm studio MK27. the expansive apartment led to accentuation of circulation spaces, whilst establishing a clear understanding for the residents and their guests.

the large corridors simultaneously serve as galleries for the clients’ art collection and display, as well as fluid architectural spaces in themselves. studio MK27 focused on instilling a cozy and solemn atmosphere. the penthouse spans across three floors. the bedrooms are based on the first, on the second floor there is the kitchen, a home office, dining room and living room. lastly, the library and spa is located on the top floor which also features a covered pool, a winter garden and a gym.
the library lounge takes advantage of the double-ceiling height
the spacious lounge and library room has been wrapped in floor-to-ceiling bookshelves – taking advantage of the double ceiling height. from this space, there is a panoramic view looking out towards the city, framed by a window that interrupts the punctuated sequence of the shelving system.
the winter garden
ochre, tints of beige and reddish tones establish a warm ambience throughout. the living room layouts – with floor lighting, sofas and club chairs, as well as end tables – define spaces for social gatherings and further emphasizes the spatial continuity and amplitude.
