studio arthur casas designs flexible prefabricated sysHaus residence in sao paulo

studio arthur casas has collaborated with brazilian startup sysHaus to develop the sysHaus house, a 200 sqm prefabricated residence in sao paulo that integrates contemporary living, efficiency, practicality, and sustainability. the project can be assembled and disassembled on site with 100% recyclable components, and without generating waste or consuming natural resources such as water – abundantly wasted in conventional construction – while completion can take only six months from design to conclusion.

designed by studio arthur casas in collaboration with sysHaus, the house comprises a structural system of pillars and beams with the same section, connected by a metallic cube that works as a structural node. when combined, they can result in different configurations of layouts within a limit of up to three floors, either in a flat or sloped terrain. the high-energy efficient house is delivered with mechanisms of rainwater capture and reuse, solar energy through photovoltaic panels, and a biodigestor that transforms organic waste into gas for the kitchen and fireplace, while it is also possible to choose a green roof, which contributes naturally for thermal and acoustic comfort.

arthur casas has also designed a series of furniture, utilities, finishes and accessories in partnership with large national companies and industries. the architect and designer has conceived the interiors as a freestanding concept, with cabinets and the kitchen, which are usually fixed in walls or partitions, arriving in the house as independent modules. in this way, in case of moving, the customer can transfer everything to the new address.

efficient also in its purchase, the sysHaus is sold as a product, and includes customizing and choosing options with defined prices and deadlines to avoid negative surprises, common in conventional constructive systems. the project also integrates automation features such as smart locks controlled by a mobile phone, cameras connected to devices and water management system, which the customer can choose to include in their home.
