La Manufacture Élysée enlivens the french palace

Studio 5•5’s pop-up factory, La Manufacture Élysée, offers an ephemeral yet versatile structure that embodies the essence of French heritage and craftsmanship. The project seeks to breathe new life into the iconic Élysée Palace while fostering local employment and the preservation of historical architecture. Its structure’s variable geometry — modular, removable, and reusable — has been crafted to adapt to various major public events in the palace’s central courtyard and beyond — whether hosting state receptions or intimate gatherings, it flexibly caters to the event’s requirements and upholds the venue’s status.

Studio 5•5 fosters community engagement

La Manufacture Élysée’s construction is notable for its sustainability, designed to be reusable and adaptable, with a sturdy steel frame and spruce tops repurposed from prior events. Studio 5•5’s (see more here) approach minimizes waste and aligns with environmental responsibility. Further, the pop-up factory offers a curated assortment of objects and products, paying homage to the French presidency’s rich heritage and injecting vitality into the palace which has stood for three centuries. All revenue generated from the store will contribute to the Palace’s restoration and enhancement.
