the concept created by stone designs is inspired by spanish comics from the fifties and sixties, the so-called ‘tebeos’. a time, when american comics were difficult to find and a generation of great spanish illustrators and vignette creators were born. all the ibis styles floors evoke this common aesthetic through the selection of colors, textures and room decoration. the interiors pay tribute to all those creators in madrid.

for the bedrooms, the design team took inspiration from the homogeneous color palette of spanish comics. alongside these bold, primary colors, they also added subtle pastel hues, which add a touch of warmth and coziness. they utilized a limited material palette. firstly, due to economical and environmental factors. and secondly, so as not to overbear the project.

the common areas such as the lobby, two restaurants, bar and reception area are inspired by the golden era of all those creators. the spaces are characterized by a warm, clean and efficient design that combines oak-wood finishes with various upholsteries for added comfort.

the novotel brand is represented by joining all its values in one unique concept, providing a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors. a show cooking area is merged with a buffet area and an attractive bar, generating a generous space where everything flows effortlessly. this space is flanked by a terrace with a swimming pool as the main feature. a high natural barrier helps guests to forget that they are in front of the M-30 motorway. overall, the hotel aims to provide the perfect place for locals and tourists alike to enjoy a fantastic evening.
