DVS 03 stands within Villa Serena apartment complex in Juárez
DVS 03 is an addition to the Villa Serena apartment complex in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, designed by Jorge Urias Studio. The project consists of two contemporary buildings, offering 33 unique one and two-bedroom apartments. The design features stepped brick-clad volumes and terraces that enhance interior space and create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow on the facade.
Located within an existing complex of low-rise brick buildings surrounded by common areas, gardens, a gym, and a pool, DVS 03 integrates seamlessly with its surroundings. The design began with a meticulous study of the site and an analysis of the axes of the original buildings to establish direct relationships between the new and existing structures. Rafael Gamo photographs the apartment complex.

Jorge Urias Studio’s design strategy prioritizes functionality
Each apartment in DVS 03 features balconies and terraces along the exterior perimeter. These elements provide sun protection, generate private outdoor spaces, and contribute to the facade’s dynamic appearance. Jorge Urias’ architectural practice follows a design strategy that prioritizes functionality, using a robust concrete frame with strategically placed brick-clad volumes that maximize interior space and double as storage solutions.
The buildings cover a total area of 3,250 sqm and utilize varied window modulations to create a sense of individuality in each unit. Jorge Urias Studio’s approach results in 33 distinct apartments, each with its own character, enhancing the architectural diversity and experience within the complex.
