Soho House’s New Venue in mexico city

Soho House has recently expanded its presence in Latin America with the opening of a new location in Colonia Juárez, Mexico City. Situated in the heart of this neighborhood, the club occupies a restored casa inspired by Baroque and touched by French influences while incorporating iconic Soho House design elements. The interiors feature a blend of locally crafted custom furniture and vintage pieces, along with an expansive art collection including over 100 works by artists with connections to Mexico.

The historic casa, adorned with original architectural details, serves as the backdrop for this addition. The project was developed in collaboration with Sordo Madaleno, a renowned local architectural firm with a history dating back to its founding by Juan Sordo Madaleno in 1937.

Soho House is immersed in Mexican Art and Design

Soho House Mexico City offers a range of bars as well as dining options in both the main Casa and the Pool House, which provides a panoramic view of the largest pool in the Americas. The interiors elegantly incorporate Mexican influences, featuring locally sourced custom furnishings and an art collection showcasing the talent of artists affiliated with the region. Taking inspiration from European greenhouses, the Pool House evokes a calming atmosphere and provides a pleasant dining experience with a focus on sharing-style Mexican dishes within its sunlit dining area adorned with large glass panels and lush indoor greenery.

As for accommodations, there are four bedrooms on the second level of the main Casa, which incorporate Baroque elements that pay homage to the building’s French heritage, with interiors designed by local artists and Soho Home. The rooms cater to various preferences, from the Casa Cosy bedroom with its king-size bed and rainforest shower to the more spacious Casa Extra Large room, complete with an emperor-size bed, a sofa, and a luxurious bathtub. Soho House Mexico City brings a touch of local flavor to the global brand while honoring the heritage of its historical setting.

Alicia Gutierrez, Soho House’s Director of Membership for LATAM, reflects on the significance of their initial Latin American establishment for the global creative community. ‘It’s no surprise that there’s been a growing buzz around Mexico City in recent years, so much so that it’s become the “It” city for creatives to visit and live in. For us at Soho House, it’s about acknowledging that sentiment and elevating it through the membership experience in every local aspect. We’re excited that as the city grows and evolves, we can serve as a platform and resource for creatives, so that our local members can integrate us into their lives and our visiting members can connect with the city authentically.’
