shomali design studio envisions a cluster of faceted 'eibche' dwellings in bali

with its latest ‘eibche’ project, iran-based shomali design studio continues its exploration of the familiar dwelling formalized with atypical geometries. here, the team takes to bali to envision a clustered trio of tiny cabin dwellings among the sloping tropical forests of indonesia. the faceted dwellings are split in half, divided by a narrow, vertical channel of glass to allow in the natural context.

the design studio, led by led by yaser rashid shomali and yasin rashid shomali, curates its ‘eibche’ project as a collection of compact object-like cabins. the duo comments on the new forms: ‘shomali design studio has long seen them as cores in the heart of the mountains and tropical forests. split in a half, allow nature to come in, and create an attractive place to stay.’
