serrano + baquero transforms seville warehouse to include comic book store

serrano + baquero arquitectos has transformed a storage warehouse in seville into a comic book and games store in the city’s industrial nervion neighborhood. the 412 square meter interior renovation was completed for raccoon games on a budget of just €70,000 ($77,500 USD). as the building had undergone many changes during its existence, the design team sought to restore the primitive industrial character of the space. this was achieved by removing cumbersome and insensitive additions and exposing the building’s original brick and metal structure.

the comic book and games store is located in the city’s industrial nervion neighborhood

the internal furniture includes both permanent and temporary displays. a series of fixed glass tanks are arranged to showcase carefully selected products, while mobile units on wheels can be readily transported to different areas of the store — ensuring a flexible use of space. externally, the original brick wall has been recovered, while an opening previously used for tractor access has been reopened, serving as a large gateway to the industrial interior.
