safdie architects reveals a first look at the major addition proposed for the iconic marina bay sands resort in singapore. the first phase of the resort, completed by the globally recognized studio in 2011, consists of three hotel towers connected by the magnificent sands skypark. the project is most famous for its monumental 150 meter-high infinity swimming pool — the world’s largest outdoor pool at that height.
building on this long-term partnership with las vegas sands, safdie architects will expand the existing resort with a new hotel tower. the ambition proposal will further include an entertainment district with a music arena seating up to 15,000 people. while the expansion will fluently resonate with the preexisting development, it promises to become a landmark destination in its own right.
