a team of dutch designers and artists have transformed a concrete parking lot in rotterdam’s delfshaven area into ‘culture campsite’, a sustainable urban camping oasis. the campsite consists of a series of unique architectural cabins made from upcycled and waste stream materials. guests are invited to stay for either a weekend or a longer period of time, while they can also participate in creative initiatives such as yoga classes, a city retreat and a multi-day course on tiny house design.rotterdam's culture campsite lets you sleep in quirky cabins made of upcycled materialsall images courtesy of culture campsite

culture campsite is created for architecture and design enthusiasts that seek to broaden their horizons in the field of sustainability in a casual way. smaller than a tiny house, and more exciting than a tent, the innovative architectural objects are each sustainable in their own way, and, in most cases, made from residual materials. the tiny cabins are created by different artists and designers, and focused on offering a special experience during an overnight stay. one popular example is ‘little pea’, an object made from discarded animal food silos, joined together to create an original design and functional space. the cabin is insulated for colder days, and features a spacious interior with a large double bed.rotterdam's culture campsite lets you sleep in quirky cabins made of upcycled materials

located less than ten minutes from rotterdam’s city center, on a former parking lot, culture campsite offers a green oasis surrounded by fragrant plants. the team behind the initiative consists of four owners, thijs masthoff, isis hoos, boris duijenveld and laura abbink, who have collaborated with a number of dutch designers and artists to offer a unique camping experience within the city. aside from sleeping, guests can enjoy a series of other activities, including yoga lessons, tours of the surrounding area, and design courses, organized in collaboration with local entrepreneurs.rotterdam's culture campsite lets you sleep in quirky cabins made of upcycled materials rotterdam's culture campsite lets you sleep in quirky cabins made of upcycled materials rotterdam's culture campsite lets you sleep in quirky cabins made of upcycled materials rotterdam's culture campsite lets you sleep in quirky cabins made of upcycled materials
