the royal institute of british architects has announced the 2012 shortlist for the RIBA stirling prize. now in its 17th year, the annual nomination has included six buildings to remain in the running for final selection:

‘the hepworth wakefield’ by david chipperfield architects ‘sainsbury laboratory’ by stanton williams ‘the lyric theatre’ by o’donnell + tuomey ‘new court’ by OMA ‘maggie’s centre’ by OMA ‘london olympic stadium’ by populous

the winner will be revealed on october 13, 2012.
