in mexico, local studio reyes ríos + larraín arquitectos has added to their expanding portfolio with a residential property completed for a family of five. designed to foster a socially inclusive atmosphere, casa GD’s centerpiece is a large terrace that connects the home’s internal living spaces with a generously proportioned pool. the remainder of the program is contained within a single-storey L-shaped floor plan, favorably oriented to ensure constant ventilation and daylight.

the residential property has been completed for a family of five

in an effort to bring the region’s lush landscape inside the house, the three main bedrooms all open onto landscaped courtyards, while the surrounding garden measures 1,000 square meters. the architects deliberately limited the scheme’s material palette, with soft marble surfaces contrasting the hardwood flooring. furthermore, the building’s cast reinforced concrete walls ensure that the home takes on a number of different appearances throughout the day — in accordance with the region’s climatic conditions.
