in a manner similar to reyes ríos + larraín’s ‘casa sisal’ project, stucco has been used for the structure’s interior and exterior walls, a gesture that establishes a singular identity and character, while minimizing operative and maintenance costs. the stucco used is prepared with white cement, and mixed with the resin of a local ‘chukum’ tree.
the building’s elevations have been designed in accordance with the orientation of the plot
the building’s elevations have been designed in accordance with the orientation of the plot, maximizing ventilation and reducing solar incidence. the internal atrium not only serves as a welcoming entry inside the building, but also draws in cool air and allows hot air to escape. residential units range in size from 66 to 145 square meters, with configurations that comprise one to three bedrooms. a parking garage is situated below grade, while a roof terrace includes a bar, swimming pool, and gym.

‘considering the limiting size of the plot for an extensive program, and taking into consideration the demand for a sustainable building, we established an arrangement of two blocks,’ explain the architects. ‘separated by a patio which works as an atrium for walkways in each floor, both blocks consist of four different typologies of apartments and a modular system of six sizes, organized by a span of 4.35 m, which allowed the structure to be rationalized.’
