FB+MP Architects develops a strategic plan for Vão House

Vão House by FB+MP Architects, located in Barbalha, Ceará, Brazil, is distinguished by its strategic spatial integration on a confined plot. The house‘s name, ‘Vão,’ is a literal reference to its design concept. Vão House embodies a purist volumetric design, characterized by a precise relationship between blocks and structure. Exposed materials, including red bricks, concrete blocks, and gray tones of beams and pillars, contribute to the house’s substantiality. The design language navigates between the objective lines of brutalism and industrialism.

the private sector sits atop the three social blocks

The expansive ground floor features a spacious open area hosting the social functions, accompanied by three enclosed annex blocks housing a garage, office, and service area. The design by FB+MP Architects emphasizes the seamless connection between internal spaces and exterior greenery while ensuring visual privacy through closed facades that strategically incorporate openings for ventilation and natural light. The private sector, comprising three suites, is exclusively located on the upper floor.
