the design by PDA puredesigns associate generates a curved glasshouse, showcasing a minimalist aesthetic complete with a dark monochromatic color palette. curved black arches are incorporated as niches and openings within the cafe, to add height and to enhance the feeling of spaciousness. the soft curves serve as a key element in the project, making the ‘kanut house’ appear as a fluid relaxed environment, rather than as rigid.

the cafe has been constructed with common materials that are frequently used in the area, such as terrazzo, and washed sandstone, with the PDA team using them in a more contemporary way, in line with today’s trends. meanwhile, all furniture is made with wood and rattan, making the interior appear lighter. the design achieves a balance between the dark black volumetry, and the large arched openings that direct views towards the tall trees of the garden. interior and exterior become one, in a peaceful, bright environment with lush vegetation that reminds of a rainforest scene.
