patterned flooring & accents of color complete minimalist residential interior in poland

widawscy architecture studio has designed a modern, minimalist interior for a two-story family residence in poland. with a white background, graphic patterned surfaces, warm wood elements, and accents of various shades of blue, the design generates a simple and cozy, yet fresh living environment.

the design by widawscy studio gathers all shared spaces on the ground floor, which includes the living room, kitchen and dining room, hall, vestibule and a bathroom. on the first floor, there is the master bedroom with a dressing room and a bathroom, the study room, and the daughters’ rooms with their separate bathrooms.

the hall

the interior is formed to receive sufficient natural lighting, with wide openings that offer unobstructed views of the surrounding fields and forests. in addition, the dwelling features a variety of hidden storage spaces, which at first seem to be just walls. in the wooden kitchen module, there is a hidden pantry, and at the same time, a whole wall of practical cabinets is concealed under the stairs.

although the design does not include any unnecessary decorations, it incorporates a variety of patterns placed on the floors and walls. in the kitchen, the flooring is covered with a simplified graphic pattern that combines white iodine with a ‘cardboard’ texture. meanwhile, the main bedroom blends a black and white striped floor with white brick and wooden walls. 

the living room

the alluring materiality of the residence is completed with the mirrored walls, that serve as finishes for the private bathroom area, adjacent to the main bedroom. last but not least, in the black zone of communication between the bathroom and the bedroom there is a dressing room and a seating corner with a cornflower armchair.
