nodding to Britain’s industrial city heritage

The Tarkett showroom is the result of a collaborative effort with Note Design Studio (find more here) and contractor Area Square, resulting in a multifunctional space that redefines the traditional showroom experience. Within the interior of the creative atelier, technology seamlessly intertwines with digital experiences through the use of interactive features and virtual reality. The design concept takes its cues from the heritage of Britain’s industrial cities embracing a ‘soft industrial’ aesthetic. Sustainability and adaptability are at the core of every aspect of the interior that has been thoughtfully curated from circular collections and using 100% recyclable materials.

note design studio’s unexpected Use of Traditional Materials

Contrasting materials and textures have been thoughtfully selected by the design team at Note Design Studio and used throughout the space, for their tactile qualities, durability, and striking industrial aesthetics. What makes this design particularly intriguing is the unexpected use of traditional materials, where hard and soft flooring take on prominent roles, transforming into linoleum counter bases, work surfaces, vinyl tabletops, structural pillar cladding, and even lighting fixtures.

Several standout collections are featured, including Desso Fields and Retrace, Linowall, iQ Granit, Natural, and Parade Excellent. An inspiring gallery area serves as a platform for Tarkett to showcase its flagship products and materials, allowing visitors to understand the benefits of each product within a purposefully designed and structured environment that goes beyond the usual confines of samples. The space will also be used for bespoke art installations crafted using Tarkett flooring. The open product lab, designed for co-creation and experimentation, allows for the realization of visitors’ project ideas, choosing from Tarkett’s extensive collection of carefully curated materials and products. The multi-functional Atelier includes areas for socializing, event hosting, meeting rooms, as well as quiet phone booths and workspaces.
