foster + partners have been selected as the architects to redesign the new york public library’s central library.
acting as a research library for over 40 years, the new design will include circulating collections and have
reading rooms which overlook bryant park. the transformation will make the new york public library’s central
building, at fifth avenue and 42nd street, the largest comprehensive library open to the public in the world.
the project is expected to be completed over a period of two years.
