paradoxically houseboats can’t go anywhere by themselves. they need a towboat.

on the water, in principle you are footloose. you can go ‘anywhere’. all you need is a ‘docking station’:
for energy, dumping your trash, parking your car, for picking up mail, for water, sewage etc.
