swiss architects herzog and de meuron’s have revised their original design for the tate modern
in the UK. the original idea consisted of the building constructed from glass blocks to form a pyramid. the new design is made from perforated bricks and is suited to its current surroundings. the building has been redesigned with sustainability in mind by using heat recapture systems that will use 40% less energy and 35% less carbon than required through buildings regulations. it is expected to cost
USD 430 million.
