AP house by MVN arquitectos overlooks the mediterranean sea

madrid-based practice MVN arquitectos has envisioned ‘AP house’ in almería, spain, which offers panoramic vistas across the mediterranean sea. in order to open views towards the ocean and surrounding mountain range, a terrace has been created that connects the design. the building is positioned at the highest point of the site with a floor plan that allows its inhabitants to maximize the gradient of the plot. containing the home’s living accommodation, the base of the building is constructed from stone, while more private areas of the residence are housed within three cubed white volumes above.

the residence offers panoramic views across the alboran sea

a glazed courtyard delineates the internal living space that faces southeast, open to the swimming pool in the foreground and the sea in the distance. oriented to the southwest, the kitchen-diner presents views of the mountains, while guest bedrooms are positioned to look out towards a secluded garden at the rear of the property. at the upper level, bedrooms are split between two independent blocks.

three white cubed volumes contain the home’s more private areas

integrating the building with the landscape, tiered terraces have been incorporated within the structure’s immediate surroundings. important areas of shading are established through the dwelling’s bold geometry, protecting inhabitants from the region’s hot sun and ensuring a cool and comfortable environment throughout the year.
