TaG Living’s apartment design draws from a bar-themed concept

TaG Living’s Aftertaste of Multi-Roasted project focuses on creating a home that serves as more than just a resting place for its owner. Positioned in proximity to a park in Pingtung, Taiwan, the apartment’s floor plan draws from the concept of a coffee island, seamlessly integrating the dining room, study room, and living room into one expansive, open space. The concrete ceiling design, extending from the island to cover the entire space, conceals structural elements and enhances the overall visual appeal.

a blend of wood and brick materiality forms a dynamic space

To ensure a serene ambiance during the daytime, the design team at TaG Living utilizes wooden shutters to regulate brightness, control the indoor atmosphere, and soften external light. The spatial theme incorporates brick as a key material, undergoing a transformative process through intense firing to evoke a natural, dynamic space reminiscent of the diverse flavors found in various coffee roasts. The incorporation of dark wood and grey tones delineates boundaries within the open area, creating a nuanced interplay reminiscent of the contrasts in a latte. The deliberate integration of these design elements offers a unique sensory experience.
