Sardarch constructs ATOBIU utilizing perforated sheet metal

ATOBIU, which translates to ‘meeting’ in Sardinian, is an urban installation by Sardarch located in S’Olivariu Park, Uta, Sardinia. Commissioned by the local administration, the project aims to create an outdoor theater that transforms the square behind City Hall into a vibrant social hub.

This installation features a small amphitheater built from modular steel elements, allowing various configurations. The amphitheater offers seating heights of 40 cm, 80 cm, and 120 cm, ensuring optimal views for spectators. The furniture consists of seat modules and step modules, crafted from perforated and solid thermo-lacquered sheet metal.

ATOBIU urban installation transforms the City Hall square

Arranged vertically in a staggered pattern and extending horizontally, the structure harmonizes with the surrounding environment. The design team at Sardarch ensures seamless integration with the municipal building. The form complements the existing olive trees, providing a dynamic yet cohesive addition to the community space.
