MM++ architects wraps vietnamese villa with pivoting glass doors

having renovated thao dien house 1 in the same suburb east of ho chi minh city, MM++ architects were charged with another refurbishment project encompassing the same brief. located in district two of the vietnamese city, the villa has been regenerated from a poorly constructed structure into a generous residence filled with natural light and open-plan spaces.

glass pivoting doors wraps the ground floor communal space

 

 

 

while retaining the entire existing concrete structure, the building walls in-between were filled with brick while all the communal spaces placed on the ground floor. comprised of the living, dining and kitchen, these spaces have been grouped together in and merged as one open-plan space. encompassed with pivoting, steel, glass doors, the space is constantly receiving natural light while giving allowing the interiors to seamlessly spill onto the decking and outdoor facilities. on the first floor there are four bedrooms insulated with double brick wall and featuring timber sliding louvers which prevent direct sun light, while allow cros ventilation.
