rojkind arquitectos has expanded the headquarters of a medical equipment supplier in mexico city with a transparent rectangular box. the previous facility, also completed by michel rojkind’s firm, was in need of additional office area as well as space for a showroom and various employee amenities. working alongside gabriela etchegaray, the design team envisioned ‘falcón headquarters 2’ as an extension of the plot’s garden, forming a secluded retreat away from the surrounding residential district.

complementing the existing architecture and preserving the green condition of the site, the project is defined by its integrated plantation with pockets of greenery interspersed throughout the design. emphasizing the visual connection between internal and external space, the new building features a transparent glass curtain wall fronted with 510 modular planters arranged in an offset linear configuration.

internally, double-height atria give the workspace a sense of openness, while vertical circulation routes are grouped at the rear of the plan – retaining a sense of transparency. a bridge connects a rooftop park above the expansion with an employee dining hall placed over the existing building. extensive landscaping of the surrounding grounds and a new entrance at street level complete the scheme’s reconfiguration.
