MDA architecture tops house in vietnam with lush roof park

MDA architecture has topped this house in vietnam with a lush roof park complete with trees and greenery where residents can walk around and relax throughout the day. designed as a serene weekend retreat for the owners to escape after a stressful working week, the ‘park roof house’ comprises secluded, light-filled interiors. a set of stairs wraps around the central atrium, where red brick balconies at different heights bring nature inside the residence.

as the project is located in a densely built area of ho chi minh city, far from public parks, MDA architecture decided to transform the large area of the roof into a private green oasis. there, the residents can enjoy a quite walk in the early morning, or relax under the shade of trees. with plenty of available space, the park also features an area for the family to grow its own fruit and vegetables.

inside, the house is divided in two parts and organized around a central atrium that lets plenty of natural light within the interior. several brick balconies of different sizes extend into this atrium, resembling large planters. placed at various heights, the balconies bring nature inside the residence, enhancing the relaxed, serene character of the project.
