having introduced its first ‘LUMIPOD’ concept in 2019, french company LUMICENE has now revealed the latest iteration of the curved prefabricated cabin, ‘LUMIPOD 6’. the new structure takes shape as a larger version of the original project, constructed next to lake geneva for a private client.

LUMIPOD 6 is designed around LUMICENE’s signature windows, a patented curved and reversible window concept, seeking to eliminate the boundary between interior and exterior. ‘being in nature helps us reconnect with our inner selves, which is why we should enjoy it in a responsible way,’ the company shares. the cabin is designed to minimize its environmental impact by being positioned on screw piles. made up of two prefabricated half-modules, the structure is compatible with road and maritime transport, can be assembled on-site within two days, and can disappear without a trace.

LUMIPOD 6 offers a panoramic lake view while blending harmoniously into the property. built around the 6m version of the company’s signature window system, the 26sqm interior offers a layout and experience that could be compared to that of a luxurious hotel. the cabin features a bedroom, a kitchen area, a dining area and a bathroom, along with a built-in wardrobe. every detail was thought around a minimalist configuration, but without sacrificing the quality of the materials used.

the floors and walls are covered with ceramic tiles, while the joinery is tailor-made in natural oak wood veneer, and ceiling panels are covered with wool felt. the cabin is fully equipped with a smart home system by lutron to maximize comfort and offer a unique experience of reconnecting with nature from the bed. meanwhile, a motorized curved curtain covers the entire glass surface, blocking out the daylight when needed.
