shelter for ruta del peregrino by luis aldrete architects image courtesy luis aldrete architectsluis aldrete architects have designed an adaptive module for shelters for the ruta del peregrino, mexico route.
the strategy consists of a series of base modules which can be multiplied allowing the project to be capable of adaptation and growth. the structure is built with two pieces painted with the ‘adobe clay’ that is one of the predominant colors of the region. one of the pieces forms a lattice perimeter around the buildings, where leaves can grow.
