london based keir alexander has generated a solution to revive public spaces with madrid, spain serving as a case study for its application. located in the contemporary malasaña district, the plaza de san ildefonso becomes a vibrant setting for gathering after dusk. currently concealed by an existing lifeless facade, a new circular form affixed to the surrounding buildings will highlight its urban presence to unknowing inhabitants.

creating a new importance to this space, the perforated metal screen acts like a veil to identify the social node while illuminating the interior and exterior spaces with dappled light. residences, galleries and artist studios will be located below the plaza and art installations can be displayed in the center of the space.
