czech architect, jan tyrpekl, has completed treehouse, a project that aims to create a direct contact between the user and the landscape in order to awaken a deeper interest in the place it inhabits. located on a private property — a sheep pasture — just outside of prague, the structure consists of two independently anchored wooden platforms where a transparent cladding is suspended from the ceiling on a subtle wooden right. a second guiding ring is attached to the floor.

jan tyrpekl’s treehouse was based on the basis of a simple sketch and focuses mostly on the layout of the preexisting trees. therefore, its final appearance was largely determined during the building process itself. to access it, visitors can use the pull-down stairs that are counter weighted by a rock suspended on a thin cable. curved floor-to-ceiling windows create a transparent aesthetic that aids in the connection with nature.

anyone can visit the treehouse by making an appointment with the owner while annual workshops will take place there, as an important part of the project. an event, where visitors get together to plant tress, will be held once or twice per year. this happening has been scheduled to take place in the imminent proximity of the treehouse and should help restore a defunct tree alley or to create some other sort of distinctive landscape element. this will allow visitors to go from mere visitors to an active part of its creation.
