nearby the bustling city of hsinchu in taiwan, infeel architects has realized the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. located within a park site, locals are led to HOH café by a winding path that meanders through nature before arriving at the shipping container turned coffee shop. the modest intervention intends to transport coffee-lovers from the busy urban environment to a calm, forest-like setting.

HOH café is designed as a single but not monotonous space. to create the coffee shop, infeel architects converted an old container using rusty iron to echo the original material, and timber in contrast. the wood changes the texture of the space and provides a warm, welcoming atmosphere. the continuous bar counter curves around the entire space and presents the barista to the public. combined with the surrounding landscape design, the architecture integrates well into the park setting and changing seasons.
taking the edge of the city as a starting point, an invisible path stretches through the park to the coffee shop. it follows the sleepers and passes by the trees, winding freely according to the natural terrain. when arriving at the old container, the boundary between the building and the surrounding environment appears ambiguous. to achieve this, the architect has employed subtle changes in texture and an abundance of plants to make a seamless transition from busy city to forest.
