IDIN architects’ eco-friendly design for urban living in Bangkok

The ARQ10 project, crafted by IDIN architects, reimagines urban living in Bangkok, Thailand, offering a collection of ten family residences within constrained spaces. Focused on practicality, the architects opted for vertical expansion to cater to the various needs of city dwellers. The resulting design of ARQ10 is veiled in white organic volumes integrated with pocket green courts, creating a vertical flow of greenery from the ground level to the rooftop garden. The organic flow of green elements enhances ventilation and allows abundant natural light to permeate the living spaces, embodying an eco-friendly approach to urban settings.

Nature-infused and serene interiors

The ARQ project by IDIN architects (see more here) includes two building types, M and L, sharing a common scheme with little design variations. The first floor of both building types serves as a semi-public space intended for hosting guests and fostering interactions between the family and the guests. The L type features an extra basement floor, offering flexibility for various purposes. The connection of the basement to a sunken court ensures privacy while allowing views of greenery. Moving upwards, the mezzanine level incorporates a bedroom surrounded by green spaces, creating a connection with nature. The second floor hosts an open-plan layout that combines living and dining areas, while a swimming pool becomes a visual backdrop visible from the living space. The third level houses two master bedrooms with views of the inner courtyard’s greenery. The rooftop transforms into a leisure space with a garden featuring trees that provide shade for users and reduce heat transfer.
